How is the town of Cala d’Or Mallorca?

Cala d’Or is a lovely holiday town with a unique charm. The buildings, mostly two stories high, feature cubic architecture with whitewashed facades and are surrounded by pine trees, inspired by Ibiza’s style. The town’s planning ensures its charming character remains intact.

The town and harbor are bustling with outdoor restaurants, ice cream parlors, and fine shops. The main shopping and pedestrian area around Tagomago Street offers a variety of shopping opportunities, especially during summer.

As evening falls, Cala d’Or comes alive with vibrant restaurants and cocktail bars. Young people and dance enthusiasts can visit the discotheques, like Sparkles Music Bar or Upstairs. Others go for a coctail in Cala Gran Cocktail Bar.

Despite this, Cala d’Or remains relatively calm, with many opting for a peaceful stroll in the marina with an ice cream in hand.

At the heart of Cala d’Or, you’ll find a well-equipped marina, one of Mallorca’s largest and most luxurious. Open to the public, the marina area is perfect for walking, with restaurants, cocktail bars, and shops along the quay. Admire the speedboats, palm trees, and whitewashed villas.

Cala d’Or boasts five unique beaches, each in an idyllic rocky bay, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or snorkeling. The bays offer protection against strong winds, providing a calm and safe bathing environment.

  • Cala Gran: The largest beach in Cala d’Or, centrally located. It has deckchairs, parasols for rent, space for ball games, cafes, and access to toilets and showers.
  • Cala Esmeralda and Cala Ferrera: The next largest beaches. Cala Esmeralda is quieter with nearby parking, while Cala Ferrera offers parasols, sunbeds, and SUP rentals during high season.
  • Cala Petita and Cala Serena: These small, charming beaches are less crowded, especially in the morning.
