Is Magaluf in Mallorca only for party-loving people?
Located about 30 km from Palma’s airport, Magaluf is part of the CalviĆ municipality, which also includes Palma Nova and Torrenova. While Magaluf in Mallorca primarily attracts tourists in their twenties, it also welcomes couples and families.
The peak season is July and August, when the area is at full capacity. During the winter months (November to March), local residents mainly inhabit Magaluf, as most resorts and package hotels close their doors.
For those wanting to experience the party scene, visiting in July and August is ideal. However, for a quieter experience, consider traveling in April, May, September, or October.
Significant investments are being made to improve Magaluf and enhance the tourist experience. Hotels undergoing renovations are now required to upgrade to at least 4-star status.
The beach in Magaluf
Magaluf’s bay offers a pristine, well-maintained beach with turquoise waters, perfect for swimming. In the high season, visit the beach in the morning before the previous night’s revelers wake up.
If the beach is too crowded, the beaches of Palma NovaĀ are within walking distance. You can rent deck chairs and umbrellas on Magaluf’s beach. Adventurous tourists often swim to Isla de sa Porrassa (The Black Lizard Island), about 400 meters from the shore, known for its black lizards.
