Ibacar offers two insurance options, allowing you to choose the coverage that best suits your needs:

1) Standard Insurance (CDW) with an Excess

This default insurance includes a required security deposit (excess) that will be blocked on your credit card when picking up the car. The amount varies depending on the car type (€900, €1,200, or €1,600).

• If minor damage occurs (e.g., a scratch costing €300), the amount will be deducted from your deposit.
• If there’s a major accident, you are only responsible for the first blocked amount (e.g., €900 on a small car)—even if repairs exceed that amount.

2) Full Insurance with No Excess

For extra peace of mind, you can choose full coverage for an additional fee (starting at €12/day for small cars, €16/day for larger cars).

• No security deposit is blocked on your credit card.
• You pay nothing for damages except for specific exclusions.
• No need to inspect for scratches or dents before or after your rental.

This option provides a stress-free experience, allowing you to focus on enjoying your trip without worrying about unexpected costs.

What is NOT covered by insurance?

Regardless of the insurance option you choose, no insurance will cover:

• Negligence, such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Damage caused on unpaved roads.
• Wrong fuel refill.
• Loss of keys.
• Interior damage (e.g., stains, burns, or tears).
• Misuse of the clutch.
• Damage to car accessories, such as baby seats or antennas.
• Belongings left inside the car.
• Side mirrors.

You will receive a written quote for approval. Once confirmed, we will send a secure payment link where you can easily complete your booking.

Your rental car will typically be delivered with a 1/4 or half-full tank. Simply return it with the same amount of fuel to match what was provided (same-same, instead of full-full). If you prefer not to refuel, we will handle it for you and charge the exact fuel cost to the credit card used for payment.
