George Sand&#8217;s book, &#8220;A Winter in Majorca,&#8221; details their stay. However, Chopin and Sand did not receive a warm welcome from the locals, who viewed them as outsiders. Sand&#8217;s account portrays a stark contrast to today\u2019s idyllic tourist experience, highlighting rain, cold, and conflicts with the Mallorcans.<\/p><p>Despite the challenges, their time in Valldemossa was pivotal for Chopin&#8217;s musical career. Unfortunately, the climate did not improve his health, and the couple eventually moved on.
